Press Release: Focus on Men Apr – May 2014
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
An invitation to participate in Focus on Men during April – May 2014. Share perspectives gained through personal experiences and/or your professional background. Help us connect people to this upcoming dialog and call to actions that enhance the quality of life.
Cincinnati, Ohio, March 08, 2014 – During April-May 2014, kennethdprice.com will host Focus on Men, a set of grassroots activities that spotlight issues of particular concern to males, adolescent to senior age. The purpose is to foster a peer-oriented environment for open and candid exchanges that guide and encourage, and one that honors the dignity of men and the roles men play in our society.
The initiative will look at matters such as: family and relationship, health, getting back on-track after incarceration, overcoming addition (sexual, alcoholism, drugs, gambling), building community, and sound economics in an uncertain economy. We will use various vehicles for these exchanges, including: publications of articles and follow-up communications; conference calls; and social media “join-ups”.
We hope that less formal, comfortable settings will promote relationship-building for ongoing activities.
Who Is Invited?
Focus on Men is open to all. First and foremost, we are seeking participation of men from all segments of our society who desire to see more in themselves and in men, collectively. Educators and community activists. Fraternity men. Rappers. Ex-offenders. Professionals Athletes and clergy. Fathers and men raised without fathers in their lives. Husbands and men who have experienced divorce. Survivors of serious illnesses and those facing addictions. This invitation is extended to men who are committed to constructive networking with other men on issues that affect us all.
Given myriad issues involving black males, an emphasis is with this demographic. This recognizes that a number of key issues transcend race, particularly as it relates to fatherhood. Also, women are encouraged to participate given the growing number of single mothers raising sons and the influence women have in the lives of husbands, fathers, and sons on issues such as men’s health.
How You Can Participate
In addition to joining the conversations, we invite those who are interested to help us shape these discussions. If you would like to write one or more articles, please let us know. If you are interested in sharing insights for upcoming articles, we want to hear from you as well. In either case, complete the form below.
Together, we can make this a success and open the door for future opportunities.
